A Senior Research Fellow – Arms Management Programme at the Institute for Security Studies was on the wireless to talk about the Ceasefire Campaign report released yesterday which has revealed that SA has sold arms to unsavoury countries including Colombia, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Lamb said SA handles arms exports on a case to case basis and the National Conventional Arms Control Act does not clearly define suppression of human rights and this sometimes poses huge challenges when decisions about arms exports have to be made.
